We, who love dogs are a "special breed" and at Leashes and Lovers® our mission is to connect you with those who love dogs as much as you.  Here we provide a dog lovers social community, products/services, and events dedicated to the dog lover in you.  Leashes and Lovers® was founded in 2003 with this idea in mind by The Dog Expert, dog trainer Sheryl Matthys.  Leashes and Lovers is Where Dog Lovers Meet. 

Dog lovers stand out from the pack. We are friendly, loyal, open and fun!  And, like dogs, we come in all sizes, colors and ages; but all in all, we have common ground - a love of dogs.  Leashes and Lovers® welcomes all dog lovers with and without dogs - single, committed or married; with/without children; straight or gay.

Being family oriented to us means inclusion of our four legged friends who are just as much our family. Whether you are looking for friends, same breed of dog, dog playdates, a date, a lasting relationship, and/or resources to find products and services to suit you and your best friend's needs, Leashes and Lovers is "The Place to Be."

Founder Sheryl Matthys is "The Dog Expert", a certified dog trainer with a psychology degree and master's in Radio/TV.  She is a volunteer for the The Good Dog Foundation with her Greyhound certified therapy dog, Shiraz. Sheryl has been at the forefront of fundraising for various animal charities with Leashes and Lovers' events and its online dog lovers social community.   She has doled out a combination of love, friendship, family, and relationship advice to thousands of dog lovers. Sheryl talks with dog lovers about how their dogs impacts their lives - good and bad! 

With more than 10 years experience as a show host, actress, and former TV/Radio news reporter, Sheryl is well versed to handle any interview or host a show. Her media expertise led to her experience as a former adjunct professor at the University of Notre Dame, St. Mary's and Indiana University - SB.
